Excavating Accidents: Case Studies & New Laws

The Legislature created the Dig Safe Board to improve safety through education, new standards, and accident investigations. To keep the focus on education, the Board created a course that One Call Law violators could take in lieu of receiving a fine.
The course focuses on case studies of past dig-in accidents in California and across the nation to provide context, emphasize the importance of communication, and demonstrate how one person’s work can affect another. This session will show one case study and describe several new laws that went into effect on July 1, 2020.
