SARBS PDC Seminar: Innovations in Technology, Maintenance, and Operations Math – June 4, 2014

The SARBS chapter of CWEA is proud to bring you the Innovations in Technology, Maintenance, and Operations Math training seminar presented by local industry experts. They will provide you with the information you need to improve your knowledge of innovative technologies and maintenance know-how while earning continuing education credits in a one-day training course.

The topics included in this seminar range from maintenance of centrifugal pumps and advanced disinfection equipment to information on membrane systems, advances in solids treatment, and lessons learned at operating facilities. Three training sessions specifically geared towards operations math covered in certification exams are also included. Vendors will exhibit equipment between the morning and afternoon sessions, showcasing the latest products available.

Engineers, operators and maintenance personnel will benefit from attending this training session and are encouraged to register early.

CWEA Specialty Conference: Effective Energy Management: Improving Your Resource Recovery

CWEA Announces a One-Day Specialty Workshop on Effective Energy Management!

The wastewater industry continues to evolve towards an overall approach of maximizing resource recovery. Treatment Facilities are trending towards enhanced biogas production in the solids management process and reduced energy requirements to effectively treat the water prior to discharge. This specialty conference will present examples of resources recovery and energy management in the modern wastewater treatment setting.

Santiago Canyon College – Now Accepting Applications for the Water Utility Science Program Advisory Committee

Are you a private or public sector experienced professional in the Water or Wastewater industry? Are you looking to contribute your expertise to a well-respected educational program in the field? This is your opportunity to help shape future workforce training in the water industry.

Santiago Canyon College, located in the City of Orange, offers classes in water distribution, water treatment, and wastewater/environmental sanitation.

Our graduates often pursue jobs with city, county, special districts, state agencies or private operations in positions such as wastewater treatment plant operator, collection system operations, drinking water treatment plant operator, water distribution system operator, environmental laboratory technician, ultra-pure water technician, industrial pre-treatment coordinator, engineering consultants and technician, surface water management, or state and federal regulator.

The role of the advisory committee:
• Members convene 1-2 times annually to provide input on industry workforce trends, curriculum topics and program development.
• Members may be called on during the year to provide response to electronic survey questions on training topics needed in the industry.
• Members may be called on during the year to provide just-in-time information on special industry topics.
